HVAC and Refrigeration Systems adapted to your Requirements
Axima Marine & Noske Kaeser
Achieving carbon neutrality by 2050
With more than 31.7 million passengers in 2023, exceeding the pre-Covid level by 7%, the cruise ship sector is thriving. Long criticized for its environmental impact, the cruise-ship industry is undergoing a complete transformation. Cruise companies are investing massively in new technologies aiming to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. They are implementing greener solutions, such as Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) propulsion, the integration of sustainable materials, waste management, and the modernisation of the HVAC systems to improve the energy efficiency of the ships. Indeed, the HVAC equipment and the refrigeration installations constitute the highest source of energy consumption on land and the second at sea after propulsion. Axima Marine & Noske-Kaeser design, manufacture and maintain HVAC and refrigeration solutions playing a significant role in decarbonisation.

Flagship technologies and products combining performance, sustainability and safety for your passenger ships
Supply of dedicated refrigeration installations and evaporators specially designed to optimise performance and hygiene (USPHS regulations). The refrigeration installation provides an appropriate supply for the passengers and the crew. The refrigeration installations and evaporators are designed according to the constraints of the ships (vibrations, compact volume, power rating, redundancy, etc.) The system supplies the standard cold room and the refrigerators in the pantry and the galleys. The scope of the supply may include the panels, the shelving and refrigeration piping. Use of an environmentally friendly coolant fluid in accordance with the F-Gas regulations.
Ventilation and fire-fighting fully tailored to each kitchen's equipment, configuration and layout, in accordance with health and safety and safety.
Design entirely integrated into the general arrangement (G.A.) of the ship thanks to compact coordination of ducts, pipes and electricity systems, offering easy/intelligent maintenance.
We custom manufacture the electrical switchboards and the control panels which will allow you to have a quick and complete overview of the different systems on board. The equipment is designed according to the ships' constraints (shock resistance, low level of vibrations and noise, compact volume, AC/DC power supply, EMC, etc.). The equipment ensures the safety of the operations.
The HVAC system is designed and adapted to the particular requirements of the room (internal loads, specific function, redundancy, etc.). The control system is designed and adapted to the specific requirements of the room (CO², NOVEC, HP or LP fog system).
Ventilation and fire-fighting system designed and fully adapted to all machine room equipment. The design complies with international design and safety standards.
Calculation of the most efficient cooling capacity and dimensioning of the equipment. Supply of different types of cooling technology, including innovative, low-energy consumption technologies.
